We are looking for an analytical, organised and professional Procurement Manager to join a thriving business based near Gillingham.
You will be responsible for defining a clear purchasing strategy that is aligned to overall business objectives. Purchasing and managing the best quality goods, at the most competitive prices, alongside predicting future requirements, whilst establishing and implementing; purchasing policies, procedures and best practices.
Evidencing your ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers is key for supporting continuous improvement activities. And the ability to manage risk and troubleshoot issues relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of purchases, alongside analysing historic sales patterns to forecast future demand is essential.
The role will include processing orders through the ERP system and ensure all supplier information is kept up to date. Ensuring sufficient supply of goods and services to meet business requirements, while controlling costs and stock holding.
- Data and financial analysis skills
- Understanding of Supply Chain Management Procedures and ERP software
- Robust business, negotiating and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of cost control and contract law
The successful candidate ill have knowledge of the current market and any upcoming changes that hold the potential to effect supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability. Identifying potential new suppliers, investigate new products and services to meet company’s goals.
A Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent qualification would be desirable.
