We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to become part of a well-established business who are undergoing an exciting period of expansion.

Reporting to the Kitchen Manager you will be second in command. This role is crucial in the running of the kitchen and ensuring guest satisfaction is maintained and enhanced as much as possible.

Main Responsibilities to include:

• Supporting Kitchen Manager in the preparation and design of food menus
• Producing high quality dishes both in design and taste
• Cover for Kitchen Manager in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
• Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff performance
• Ordering of stock
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Maintain positive and professional approach with colleagues and customers
• Solving any issues and controlling problematic situations

It is essential that you have relevant substantial experience as a Sous Chef and are Food Hygiene certified. You must have a good understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures, the ability to problem solve and a record of kitchen and team management. Ideally you will be familiar with industry best practices and hold a Food/Culinary science related certificate.

This role is working 44 hours per week to include some weekend work.
